Meet The Crew: LUX BMX - Brisbane, Australia
"We have riders that go above and beyond to give back more to BMX than they take"
Meet The Owners: Mitchell Wood and Evan Jaques
Can you give us a brief history of your store?
We opened the store in 2010. Against the advice of many people smarter than us, we decided to rent a spot down a sketchy back alley in Brisbane’s party district the Fortitude Valley. We’re now in our third location after outgrowing the past two spaces with a bigger warehouse that can accommodate our online sales. We have some big plans for the retail space now the cloud of Covid has cleared. Watch this space!
What type of riders are part of your community and what makes your community so special?
Brisbane has an amazing BMX scene which we’re blessed to be a part of and contribute to. I think the thing that makes any BMX community special is having riders that go above and beyond to give more to BMX than they take, whether it be helping with events or jams or just going out of their way to make a kid on two wheels feel included.
