Meet The Filmer: Daniel Giordan
Age: 26
Years riding: Since 2017 with two years of injuries.
What’s your favourite BMX video?
My favourite BMX video is FTS, produced by Federal Bikes in 2019 and filmed and edited by Rich Forne.
The team part is very different with various riding styles, much more evident in the street section which I am most passionate about. The technicality of the grinds of Ryan Eles, Bruno Hoffman and Anthony Perrin, the big gaps of Dan Lacey and Joe Jarvis; are put all together in harmony in a unique video as only Rich Forne can do.
Who is your favourite BMX filmer?
Rich Forne, to me, is one of the greatest filmers in the field of BMX videos. The black and white scenery shots with high contrast, slow motion scenes, his unique and dynamic camera angles, and a deep video project study guarantee something more than a video: a narrative in fact, with all the emotions swirling around it.
Tell us what’s good about your local scene:
I live in Turin, a big problem is that for the past few years there has been no generational turnover. Currently, there are 5 riders compared to 30 in 2015-2018. But I am a person who travels around Italy a lot and I have many friends around the country. In fact, the best times of the year are during jam sessions when we all get together.
What’s your favourite BMX page on Instagram? OUR BMX (@bmx) and DIG BMX (@digbmx).
